ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRECTIONS TO COURSE MATERIALS

(correction to earlier posting):
2009 Exp 3 - Enzyme Analysis- the concentration of
ADH in the brown bottle that you used as the stock test solution for the ADH
enzyme was 8.5 X 10-3 mg/mL. This is not the final cuvette concentration;
you have to calculate that for yourself.
October 29: The ICP AES instrument is still down right now and this is a main part of experiment 4. Therefore I have rearranged the course schedule to postpone experiment 4. I've posted the revised schedule. Tuesday Nov 3, I will give the lecture on 6 the Special Project and you will use the lab time to brainstorm, research and plan a special project with your team. On Thursday I will give the lecture on Experiment 5, Coulometry, and you will do this experiment on Thursday (one day lab).
I anticipate that the ICP AES will be repaired by Tuesday Nov 10 the following week and we will do Experiment 4 then.
October 19: For question VB, 4. for report on expt 2A, You might want to review the background information on the CCD spectrometer given in expt 1B ~p 17. Also look at the definition of the boxcar setting we went over in lecture.
October 19: Schedule for experiments 2B and 2C this week. Some of you will do 2C on Tuesday and no group should start the data collection for the fluorescence calibration curve on Tuesday - everyone will do this part Thursday.
October 12: Lab manual for October 13 First day of experiment 2A.
October 7: First Lab Quiz posted at: CH 461 lab quizzes Due at 1 pm Thursday Oct 8.
September 29: Welcome Back! Lecture at 1 pm in GBAD 211. Go to lab after lecture, check in to lockers, form teams, and start experiment 1A. Copy of the experiment are in your chemistry mailbox.
