| Travel & Lodging for Student Participants |
| Student attendance at the symposium is strictly limited to successful applicants. Potential participants should therefore not make any firm travel plans until learning the result of the selection process (see "apply to attend"). Travel (up to $500 in legitimate expenses) and free accommodation provision will be made available to all selected student participants. Faculty wishing to attend the symposium must register and will be expected to cover their own out-of-pocket travel and accommodation expenses (see "faculty registration").

| Lodging: Halsell Hall, OSU Campus Student participants will be provided with dorm room style accommodation on the OSU campus in Halsell Hall, a short walk from the site of the symposium at the Memorial Union building. Available rooms are a mixture of double and single occupancy. check-in: Sunday August 10 (4 pm) check-out: Tuesday August 12 (10 am) All meals will be provided on Monday March 11 at the symposium site. Breakfast will be provided to departing residents of Halsell Hall on Tuesday morning. |
| Symposium staff will assist the selected student attendees with their travel plans, including the possibility of purchasing airline tickets directly on their behalf. A travel budget of up to $500 in legitimate expenses will be available to each attendee: air travel must be taken via economy class airfares only, and gas mileage claims for those traveling by car will be limited to OSU's standard. The closest significant airport to Corvallis is Eugene Airport, located some 40 miles to the south along Highway 99W. Omnishuttle offers a ground transportation service to Corvallis from there. Portland International Airport (PDX), further away to the north, is a major airport and offers many more flight options.
